Chapter #297 has some
exciting things to look forward to for the 2007-2008 fiscal year. First,
we have a new PERMANENT home, meeting the first Monday of the month at Sam
Seltzer's, Clarion Hotel, Fort Myers.
This will provide us a consistent meeting place and time year round.
We are also thrilled to be
able to host Tammy Taylor and Dede Hughes at a membership drive on
November 7th at Sam Seltzer's. We home to captilaize on this important
national presence in our market so that our members can learn more about NAWIC
and hopefully recruit some new members.
We have a site visit
planned this fall to the "newest" town in southwest Florida, Ave Maria. This is a great opportunity for our
chapter to learn more about this university town being developed from the
ground up.
The chapter is trying a new
fund raiser this year, a reverse raffle. If all 500 tickets are sold, the
Chapter will raise $8,000 and be able to award prizes of $2,500, $1,000 and
$5,00.
We are continuing the process
of setting up our scholorship fund and hope to have it fully operational by
2008.
