First thing we have planned is the “Builders Olympiad”(a 4
person team competing against other teams in Olympic type construction-oriented
competitions). We are 1 of 2 all- women
teams. Wish us luck! The purpose of this event is to raise money
for Rebuilding Together , an organization
that makes repairs on homes for very low-income homeowners, especially
those who are elderly, disabled or families with children. Rebuilding Together also holds an Annual
Rebuilding Together day in late April. www.RebuildingTogetherBroward.org.
Our chapter will be participating in
this event as well.
In the past our chapter has done events with the surrounding
county chapters. We will be trying to do
this for our Holiday party. Hopefully we will be able to start these
get-togethers once a year again.
We are still working on our Ways and Means event and our WIC
week event.
Our chapter is in the process of starting a web-site. This will make us a part of the 21st
century and allow more people to view what we do and possibly increase our
membership.
We plan on doing more site visits also. We went on a site visit to Dolphin Stadium in
June thanks to a new member Melanie Guy of the Stiles Corporation.
