NAWIC’s CAD Drafting competition is a great way to get the
High School students to consider careers in Construction. The projects give students a real feel for
all aspects of the industry trades combined with the artistic expression of the
personal design.
In Palm Beach
County
there are 6 high schools that have Construction Academies, not all have access
to CAD programs. Schools with Academies are an excellent starting place when
looking for participants.
Check out the NAWIC NEF website for current project and
requirements. This project does take
some pre-planning and interaction with the instructors so start early. I am looking forward to having 6-7 entries
from Region 3 this year.
