A message from Tampa Chapter President Jill Gough, CIT:
The Tampa Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction was founded in 1960. For the past 49 years, members have contributed countless hours of hard work toward bettering the community and women’s roles within the construction industry.
The chapter continues to be committed to education for both women working in the construction industry and for our youth. This year the chapter is participating in the NAWIC Education Foundation CAD Design and Drafting Competition and will offer several scholarships to students throughout Tampa Bay. We host monthly business meetings that always feature a guest speaker.
Recent topics have included the Tampa Heights Project, Chinese Drywall, and Rail Plans for Tampa Bay. Our members remain committed to doing business with other chapter members. And, with a variety of networking opportunities you are certain to find members who will help your business grow. Our monthly meetings, social gatherings and a variety of committees meetings ensure you’ll develop relationships with the most involved women in the Tampa Bay Construction Industry.
The Tampa Chapter usually meets on the first Monday of the month. The meetings are held at the Hilton Tampa Airport Westshore, 2225 North Lois Avenue, Tampa, FL 33607. Meetings start with networking at 6:00 PM and dinner at 6:30 PM. The cost is $25 per person.
