Wow! Membership, what a big job, and it takes everyone’s help to get and keep members. The region is looking for lots of help this year in recruiting new members. These are really tough times and the economic outlook is not too promising, so we need to band together and do everything we can to recruit, recruit, and recruit.
NAWIC is such a great organization and we have so much to offer that we should be able to pick up some new members. The advantages to joining such an organization are many and we need to let people know that even now when times are tough, we stand together to help each other.
The Database for employment is just about completed, and letters are going out to some major construction corporations to inform them of the excellent talent and experience we can offer them and they don’t have to pay for an employment agency. We can send resume’s to them that show the expertise of all of our members who are unemployed or looking for different employers.
Our education benefits from NEF are numerous. CIT, CDS and CCA certifications are available for everyone along with the new Construction Bookkeeping course. NCCER is another great source of training, and Lorman Institute as a partner offers some really great deals for NAWIC members.
Region 3 will be having a contest that runs from October 31st through March 31st . The contest is that the chapter with the most percentage of new members will win an award. Also, Director Tina Laws has committed that not only will the chapter win an award, but every member of that chapter will get a gift. So let’s go and recruit as many members as we can. Remember the 1+1 formula. If every member gets one new member, we have doubled our membership!
Let us all join together in getting new members and if each member of Region 3 recruited at least one new member we could double our membership.
If anyone has any questions or needs any kind of help, please let me know. My email is kogle6@cfl.rr.com.
